Chapitre 193
The seventh birthday

Shaoran: Today is the fifth day since I came to this world, huh?

Shaoran: In the few days I've been shown around, this country

Shaoran: was peace itself.

Shaoran: Everyone looks happy...

Man: Prince!
Touya: Yeah!

Man: Please give this apple to the princess.

Townspeople: Is she still going through cleansing?
Townspeople: It might be for an important ceremony but it's still troublesome.
Townspeople: But it's only a little longer
until the birthday.

Shaoran: Birthday?
Yukito: Sakura-hime's, you know.

Shaoran: Is that so?

Yukito: The princess is in cleansing for her birthday ceremony.
Yukito: Her seventh birthday.

Yukito: When that ceremony is over,
Sakura-hime will formally become a candidate for priest of those ruins.

Man: Please take this apple too,
Man: since Sakura-hime loves apples!

Man: Her birthday is a festival day.

Townspeople: We gotta celebrate it in high spirits!
Townspeople: Please look forward to it!

Touya: Thanks.

Apple-kun: Hey, hey!
Who are you?

Touya: A freeloader at the castle.

Apple-kun: Oh, I see!

Apple-kun: Clow country is a nice place!

Shaoran: I agree.

Shaoran: ... This country,
and the royals living in the castle, I really care about them.

Shaoran: Two more days I can stay in this world...
Something's gonna happen within that time.

Shaoran: What I'm waiting for is...

Sakura: Still up?

Sakura: I thought it'd be no use if you were asleep,
and came quietly.

Shaoran: I can tell.
From your presence.

Sakura: That it's me?
Shaoran: Yeah.

Shaoran: You're wet.
Sakura: I came straight from the cleansing grounds.

Sakura: Because we have

Sakura: ... no more than two days.

Sakura: Hey!
Sakura: Won't you go see the stars tomorrow night?

Shaoran: Stars?
Sakura: That's right.

Sakura: While the sun is up, I've got to go to the cleansing grounds,
so after night falls,

Sakura: at the highest place in the castle, there's an observatory, (T/N: She says something like "star viewing stand". I figured "observatory" would be reasonable.)
and the stars you see from there are really pretty,

Sakura: so I wanted to see them with you.

Shaoran: Yeah...
Please take me there.
Sakura: Okay!

Yuuko: This shop,

Yuuko: and these children,

Yuuko: they were created for the sake of what is to occur.

Nadeshiko: to end without incident.

Shaoran: Don't you see it in dreams?

Nadeshiko: Although I can see the future in dreams,
Nadeshiko: it's not like I know everything that's going to happen.

Nadeshiko: that's precisely why I can wish for a happy future.

Shaoran: My mother... also said that.

Nadeshiko: ... I see.

Nadeshiko: I'd like to meet
Nadeshiko: your mother.

Shaoran: I'm off.

Nadeshiko: ... I wish for your and Sakura-hime's future
to be a happy one.

Sakura: Thank you for being ha-... (T/N: Cut-off sentence, so I'm guessing on the "thank you" part. It's eiher "thank you" or "I'm glad".)

Hmm... Cue Princess/Syaoran swap maybe anyone?

But one things been bugging me since this arc started... We have Fujitaka and Nadeshiko as King and High Priestess, yes? But in the early flashbacks, when Touya is talking about his Dad and his uncomfy feeling with C!Syaoran (clone, yes?), don't we have Clow instead, and Fujitaka is C!S's 'father' the archaeologist that 'found' him?
So is someone playing mindfuck games with the entire population of Clow? (can you mind wipe an entire country?)Do Sakura and Touya have different fathers? Or did the memories get switched when the Princesses get switched?

Ideas anyone? It's annoying the hell outta me.

I don't think a swap is going to take place right now. Probably something is going to happen to Sakura that will do away with any doubts Shaoran had about staying (assuming that's the decision he's supposed to make). Life goes on normally till they are 15-16 and -then- something bad happens that causes Shaoran's rewind-and-swap to take place.

The mess with Fujitaka, Nadeshiko and Clow-ou isn't the only thing that points to a mindwipe. How the heck else would the ruins lose all their religious significance and become a digging site almost overnight? Although I don't have a clear idea on the details, I think Shaoran's rewind-and-swap is related to this. The biggest problem is where Clow-ou came from and where Nadeshiko disappeared off to.

Yeah that makes sense, that only sprang to mind cause of the 'tone' happening again, and it resembling the time we saw the ruins try to swallow her.

It's been bugging me so much one of my best friends and I took a day to go over everything we've read and see if we could make more sense of it. The Nadeshiko thing was one giant WTF? when I saw it. She threw most of my theories out the window.
Syaoran having something to do with it make a lot of sense considering Fujitaka's job in his original world.

I'm wondering now if my theory that Clow-ou is actually CCS Clow holds more or less ground than it did before. O_O

I remember no mention of the constant sandstorms that plague the ruins in any flashbacks, but it appears quite frequent in Timeline 2 (what I am calling the timeline with the Clones) so perhaps Fei Wong caused a massive sandstorm to hide the ruins for some reason?

It would make sense to keep others away from it, Fei Wang has something to do with it i'm almost certain of that.

We used to have a very nice scanner who'd scan both Holic and Tsubasa and post them for anyone who wanted to get the chapters, no friending needed. Unfortunately she's vanished from LJ and no one seems to know what happened.

For Tsubasa there's still a regular scanner over at M-H. For Holic you should check [info]clamp_now for the moment.

I think that some of the mystery with the time loop can be explained with chapter 33 (how? I have no idea...) since it was the last time we saw Clow Country in "real time". What I also thought was really weird about that chapter was that Touya never calls the previous king (ie Clow) his father.

I dismissed it when Sakura (back in Infinity or Tokyo) told Yuuko her father's name was Clow... but that Sakura turned out to be a replica of the real Sakura, so it might make sense that after realizing the truth, she would refer to Clow as her father rather than Fujitaka (or maybe the true Sakura still thinks Clow is her father and the copy is just retaining that). O_o
