Sorry I'm late. I'd pretty much given up on the chapter being out yesterday and slept too much. Anyway, publicly accessible pictures of the chapter at jlarinda's.

Page 5 looks to me like enough proof that Sakura knew this at least from Infinity onwards. I still think she found out in Acid Tokyo, though.

Really, Yuuko... who is "all right" now? Though I'll laugh so much if you say that real Sakura is Clow Reed's 血縁.

So what is that soul we saw anyway? Even if CLAMP officially explains it away as a "soul clone", I'll still think that soul cloning is stupid and illogical considering that Fei Wang is using the heart of the real Sakura. And why did no one other than Shaoran notice that Sakura was a replica? So many people noticed other Shaoran with so much as a glance, yet no one seems to have noticed Sakura. I have this weird idea that the soul we saw was a projection made by Sakura's heart -- the feathers projected stuff before -- but that doesn't make Sakura any less noticeable than other Shaoran.

Ugh, incoming Yuuko monologue...

Woah...I had totally forgot about Yuuko's words in the first volume, when she sent them off on their journay with Mokona and said that Hopefully everything would be alright o.O Indeed, not much is ok with the two 'children': one is dead and the other is a psycho...
From Fye's look, I would say he knew too, about Sakura...but, as you said, so many people (with powers) met her but no one seemed to notice while they did in Syaoran's case : Ashura, Seishiro, Yukito (yes! Yuki did not notice!!)...etc...
Which make me come back to my original statement that no one agree with me with : I think the body is the real one.
And yeah...
I've been expecting it since chap178 : Yuuko solo monologue...but for once, I would like her to tell us clearly what is replicated/or not with Sakura

I don't agree with Sakura's body being the real one either. (笑) Why would Fei Wang clone her then? Or are you saying he messed up? He did say that other Shaoran would be taking a cloned Sakura on a journey, and the heart they're using is also the real one's. Either way, I really hope it's not a "soul clone". (Foresight, Fei Wang dear. Why didn't you clone Clow's your loved one's soul before ey died?)

There's also Kamui. Even though Sakura's soul slept a long time in Acid Tokyo, he never seemed to think of her as "e".

If we're lucky, we'll get a long cryptic Yuuko monologue before Kamui and Subaru arrive and we don't hear from Sakura and Shaoran for the next 3-4 chapters.

I don't see the WTF's end any soon. CLAMP will need to provide some way for everything that's happened to reflect on the real Sakura, otherwise the whole thing will have been pointless, but how -can- they do that? We can't have another "watching through the eye I gave you" thing (though I had thought the same about cloning), so what will it be this time? I wish the real Sakura -had- done something to try and sabotage Fei Wang's plans. Either that, or for her to be on his side -- that'd be an interesting twist too.

Shaoran's past connection to Sakura needs to be explained ASAP.

I don't really know how to feel about C!Sakura.. I would be all tearful that she's just died, but then, I'm not sure if she really has died, because she says "it's not the end" as long as "those two stay alive".

I really, really want answers about Syaoran. Right. Now. The mystery was nice at first, but I'm getting impatient that we know close to nothing about him even though he's been around for.. *counts* ..8 volumes already. I started following TRC about a year ago and have been patiently waiting for some information about him ever since, but, no. We know no more about him than we did in volume 16, really. I want to learn about his past, for CLAMP to better explore his character and let us see him have a happy ending with Sakura, and it's torturing me because none of those are happening. ;o; It makes me sad, because I know he's an amazing character but CLAMP isn't showing us that!
Also, even though "his" Sakura was heavily implied as being R!Sakura, it really does need to be explained properly, and I'm getting worried that CLAMP actually -will- pair him off with some third wheel Sakura. I wish they'd just tell us so I can stop angsting about it. I've gotten very tired of the constant R!Syaoran vs. C!Syaoran debates and such.

I'm more curious about the supposed past connection between (real) Sakura and Shaoran. Clow-ou hinted at it in his convo of doom™, and Sakura-replica's implying that Shaoran's Sakura is the real Sakura makes it seem like there's so much more between the two. I'm starting to think there was some big conspiracy to make other Shaoran feel welcome in the Clow-koku world, and a lot of people who were supposed to not have known him before actually knew the real one.

I wonder how the Sakura-is-a-DEAD-clone thing will impact xxxholic. Watanuki will NOT be happy. How will he find out? He's no longer constantly phasing in and out of dreams (I mean, in the latest chapter, it looks like he managed to walk all the way to the tv station with Doumeki without going to the land of dreams again).

Crackpot theory: Kohane and the real Sakura will turn out to be somehow related, just like Watanuki and R!Shaoran. Because having a clone each is simply not enough for the main couple in this series, they need to have people in another universe with whom they share a "deep --and vague-- connection" :P

Well, I think no more illogical and stupid than the rest of the series. XD You know, C!Syaoran was supposed to create his own heart/soul due to the experiences he lived, R!Syaoran says that the feelings for Sakura weren't his. So really, maybe Sakura created her own soul. Because both Sakura and Syaoran gained their emotions through a borrowed heart; but both were self-aware, they never considered themselves as 'original' children, they were different individual at their own eyes. I think I would consider that as a different soul from the original one: even when they had another person's heart, there was a conjunction between feelings and mind that formed a whole new person. But this is just my own interpretation/theory, maybe things are more... practical. Or something.

Actually, I think it's ambiguous how the clones feel about their condition as clones. It's not like you can ask Shaoran's clone and get a decent answer, and Sakura's clone may have said that she's not the real one, but at the same time she seems to feel as though she were ("it's not the end" line and everything she did for a Shaoran that "isn't hers"). I don't think this is how dimensional counterparts would feel about each other; it's a closer connection.

My interpretation is that the heart is what's really individual, since souls are supposed to persist through reincarnation. Once someone dies, ey can be born again with, same soul and even a similar body, but the heart that died can never be formed again under normal conditions.

The idea that the "soul" we saw is really a projection actually came from the fact that it dissolved into sakura petals. I mean, what else have we seen dissolve into sakura petals in another very well-known, very unfinished CLAMP manga? And she did use a similar line too...

1. Wow, that is...horribly, horribly sad. Now I know how people felt when Seishirou died (er, not a fan) or when C!Shaoran "died" (well, you know what I mean). I guess this bothered me more because this Sakura, apart from being emo, seemed more like The Sakura I Know (CCS!Sakura) than C!Shaoran resembled CCS!Shaoran.
2. I'm glad that we finally got an explanation as to why Sakura was purposely creating distance between herself and Syaoran. (Ouch, though. Ouch.)
3. Syaoran looks totally devastated, but furious on the last page. Somehow I suspect that Sakura's consolation that she wasn't "real" didn't help matters. The fact that he knew she was a clone explains a lot, though.
4. "Sakura" dissolving into sakura petals is a beautiful, beautiful image. I love CLAMP's visuals.
5. The C!Syaoran/C!Sakura ship is taking on doomed, EPIC dimensions. I didn't care for it at first, but now, it is awesome. (I didn't expect C!Syaoran--it was him, right?--to cry out in pain when Sakura dissolved into petals. Huh. About-face, much?)

1. This Sakura never really reminded me a lot of CCS Sakura, but yeah, this was tragic.

3. "Consolation"? I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who got that kind of vibe. But yeah, his weird Tokyo lines are explained now. Now, if only CLAMP would be so nice as to explain the Clow-ou/Shaoran convo of doom™...
4. I agree, it was very beautiful. Though I'd have preferred for her to dissolve out of reach for both the clone and Shaoran.
5. I just hope the clone isn't shown all recovered from this next time he does show up...

From what we're speculating, Touya and Yukito were fending off the attack on the ruins while Sakura was cloned. She seems to have been cloned in a very small window of time. Maybe the -true- reason why Shaoran got cloned was so that Fei Wang could practice the cloning spell? (笑)

Touya and Yukito apparently didn't notice a thing about Sakura-replica, adding to the long list of people who didn't notice. Though it's possible that Yukito saw something in a vision and had to shut up to avoid disturbing the future he saw. As for Clow-ou, who knows what he foresaw... He certainly knew about Shaoran, it's kinda obvious from the convo we saw in the Infinity flashback. I'm not sure whether Touya knew what -really- was up with other Shaoran, but we know he noticed something when he first saw the kid. And if he did, odds are that Yukito noticed too.

I'm still waiting to see what happens before I can have a solid opinion on the whole Sakura-replica matter. So far, my opinion is not favorable, but maybe CLAMP will come up with something awesome enough that the apparent stupidity of the idea will be justified.

Like when C!Syaoran was revealed I was surprised (and angry, cause of what he did to Fai), and I wanted to slap Sakura for how she treated R!Syaoran... But this time my brain just went "Pft...Figures CLAMP would pull something like this again"
Sure, my brain is in WTF-country at the moment, but I'm still not really 'shocked' >_>

Just a thought, if CLAMP did pull the 'soul-clone' thing (I wouldn't put it past them, though I thought a soul you couldn't clone)
It would explain how Sakura's body was still alive when she was split in Infinity (As Ashura said, somehow the body is still alive without the soul). If FWR (or even Yuuko) has the real soul, and it's still connected to the body, even with a fake occupying it, then the body wouldn't die just because the fake had been removed.

I think it's the real body too, even if the "Sakura" in it is the fake. If she thinks she's the clone, she'd give up the body, thinking it was a fake too, even if it's the real one.

Sounds like somthing Mommy would pick up on, though I'd have thought Daddy would have had an inkling to after what happened
...I wanna know why Yuki and Touya didn't pick up on it, unless they both knew what was going to happen had to happen.(or that something happened to the real princess)

And I'm not sure I like these "preperations" made for the companion they're talking about...

Gah...I think I need to go back and read it all from the start again and see all the connections.
